We have planned many club team-building initiatives designed to raise not just money for the club, but to add to a culture in the club which makes us one of the strongest clubs in North Harbour, if not New Zealand.
We will be contacting all our members and tapping into this vast network. We can utilize this potential to generate funds which will be used to strengthen our Premier teams and also to subsidise our youth players to make it more affordable for them to come up through the grades.
Our sub committees are already working on many projects. One is a Golf Day of which more information will be out shortly.
Mens Team Change for 2017
This season the club has made some changes on the Men’s side to better reflect the pathway of our high performance players through to Premiers. As a result we will no longer enter two teams into the Men’s Premier Reserve grade. The pathway we are trying to create for talented young players coming through the club is Senior Two, Senior One, Premier Reserve and Premiers. In very recent seasons our second Reserve team has struggled and our wish is to ensure that our single Premier Reserve team consists of talented young players on their way up to Premiers, recently retired Premier players coming down and those with the ability to hold their spot if not going up or down. Players who might normally have played in our second Premier Reserve team will now be accommodated in one of our Senior One teams - a grade, which in recent years has lifted in standard, become extremely competitive and one that Takapuna has enjoyed success in.
We are pleased to announce that Nick Capizzi and Brianna Lupton have been appointed to the Club Captain roles.
Come support our youth hockey teams last games this Monday 12th December.
